Traditional Vietnamese market at Hanoi Sofitel Metropole

(VOVworld) – Some of the most distinctive features of the Vietnamese Tet holiday were showcased at an event called “Cho Que”, or a traditional Vietnamese market, at the Hanoi Sofitel Legend Metropole. The venue for the event was the hotel’s open-air courtyard. At Cho Que, vendors set up shops along the walkway bordering one side of the hotel’s inner sanctum. Dressed in traditional garb, vendors sold food and handicrafts. Other activities included a dragon dance, Vietnamese traditional music performances and a special Chung or square sticky rice cake making competition. The event drew many young Vietnamese as well as foreigners.
