The US has been the hardest-hit country, with 7.4 million cases, followed by India, Brazil, and Russia. India has reported 70.5 thousand new cases in the last 24 hours. Indonesia reported over 4,000 cases the same day.

The World Health Organization said on Tuesday that one million deaths from COVID-19 is“a very sad milestone”. Many victims suffered “a terribly difficult and lonely death”, with their families unable to say goodbye. The one positive thing about this virus is that it is suppressible. It is not the flu, said WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris.
