10-month FDI disbursement tops five-year high of 21 billion USD
(VOVWORLD) - The registered foreign direct investment (FDI) capital in Vietnam topped 31.5 billion USD as of October 31, up 15.6% year over year, according to data released by the National Statistics Office on Thursday.
FDI capital disbursement was an estimated 21.3 billion USD in 10 months, the highest 10-month disbursement in the past five years.
The processing and manufacturing industry accounted for 83% of the total disbursement, followed by real estate and production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioners.
Singapore was the largest investor in the reviewed period, followed by mainland China, Hong Kong (China), and Japan.
Bac Ninh was the leading locality in attracting new FDI capital, with 1.7 billion USD in newly registered capital in the first 10 months of the year. Ho Chi Minh City was second, and Hai Phong city came third.
