10th National Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front opens
(VOVWORLD) - The 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) opened in Hanoi on Thursday, gathering more than 1,000 delegates representing people from all social strata, ethnicities, and religions, armed forces, overseas Vietnamese, and Front officials at all levels.

In his opening speech, Politburo member and President of the 9th VFF Central Committee Do Van Chien underlined that the congress will review the great national solidarity bloc and sketch out orientations, objectives, tasks and the action program of the VFF for the 2024-2029 tenure.
A new VFF Central Committee, Presidium, Standing Board, President, Vice President-General Secretary and Vice Presidents will be elected.
Participants will also approve revisions to the VFF Charter, said Mr. Chien, who is also Secretary of the Party Central Committee.
At the first working session on Wednesday, the Presidium of the congress was elected. Party leader and State President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Luong Cuong were invited to join the Presidium.
