(VOVworld) – 115 works by news agencies nationwide were honoured at a ceremony to grant the 8^th National Press Awards in Hanoi on Saturday. The pieces are of high quality depicting national socio economic, political, security and foreign relations aspects last year.


Speaking at the ceremony, member of the Politbureau and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission, Dinh The Huynh, asked journalists nationwide to continue uphold the Party guidelines and State policies, to ensure successful socialist state building and enhance public trust for peace, stability and national development. He said: “I request the media workers to promote their struggle against bureaucracy and corruption with constructive and responsible attitude, preventing the degradation of moral and political ideology in the Party and the society, while opposing wrongful information of hostile forces. I believe that the press will excel its glorious tradition over the past 89 years to achieve more success and be worthy of the Party, State and people’s trust."
Voice of Vietnam won the record number of prizes with 11 winners.
