(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired an international press briefing following the conclusion of the 12th National Party Congress.

Answering questions about Party’s democracy, he highlighted major activities for the future as reflected in the Party resolution. These include the voting of confidence on key leaders, power supervision to minimize corruption.
He said the training of young officials is a long term task. He praised this congress’ election as compliance with “Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Renovation” theme. 
The Congress elected 200 members to the Party Central Committee, including 180 official and 20 alternate ones. The majority of the Politbureau are new comers with the youngest born in 1970 and 3 female members.
