136 thousand tons of rice allocated to people affected by pandemic

(VOVWORLD) -More than 136 thousand tons of rice were distributed from the national reserve to people facing difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic across Vietnam from August 16 to October 8.

The allocation is in accordance with the Prime Minister's decisions to help those in need, said the General Department of State Reserves at the Ministry of Finance.

In September, 70 thousand tones of rice from national reserve were provided to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s hardest hit locality, to distribute for free to local residents.
