13th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Informal Meeting opens
(VOVworld) – The 13th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Informal Meeting (ACDFIM-13) opened on Monday in Vientiane, Laos with the goal of enhancing military cooperation among ASEAN countries.

A Vietnamese military delegation led by Chief of the General Staff, Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty attended the event. ASEAN Chiefs of Defense forces are expected to discuss ways to boost mutual understanding, trust and cooperation. Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi, Chief-of-the-General Staff of the Lao People’s Army said the Meeting was a significant event after the formation of the ASEAN Community and aims to boost peace, security, stability and prosperity in the region.
On Monday afternoon, the participants issued a joint statement and handed over the Chairmanship for the 14th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Informal Meeting and related meetings.
