(VOVWORLD) - Senior Party members are meeting in Hanoi to discuss a number of important issues related to Vietnam’s socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired the 3rd plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee which opened on Monday.
The session will consider and issue working regulations for the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission, regulations on implementing the Party Charter, and rules on inspection, supervision, and discipline of the Party during the 13th tenure.
It will also consider nominations for leading positions in the State apparatus for election or approval during the first session of the new National Assembly scheduled for later this month.
"We must fully understand and implement the 13th Party Congress’s orientations on development institutions, particularly the institution on developing the socialist oriented market economy. It’s important to ensure rapid but sustainable socio-economic and environment development, social progress and equality, and the advantages of the socialist regime in Vietnam,” said Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong.
The plenum will continue until Friday.
