(VOVWORLD) - The closing ceremony of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is underway on Monday morning after eight working days at the My Dinh National Convention Center in Hanoi.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation – Development," the Congress has held passionate, frank, and democratic discussion and is expected to approve the Political Report, Report reviewing the implementation of the 10-year socio-economic development strategy from 2011 to 2020 and building the 10-year socio-economic development strategy from 2021 to 2030, Report evaluating the implementation of socio-economic development tasks from 2016 to 2020 and orientation and socio-economic development tasks for the next five years.
Attending this Congress, delegate Nguyen Cong Truong of Lang Son province said, “The 13th National Party Congress was well prepared, especially the documents of the Party Central Committee submitted to the Congress. As a member of the delegation from the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee, we are very excited by what the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam has achieved and led the country to such important achievements. Our contribution of opinions to the Congress was included in the Congress documents. "
The closing session of the 13th National Party Congress is being reported live by the Voice of Vietnam.
As soon as the 13th National Party Congress announced the newly-elected Party Central Committee of the 13th term, comprising 180 official members and 20 alternates, cadres, party members and ethnic minorities throughout Vietnam expressed confidence in the success of the congress and expected that each delegate would promote creativity, dare to think, dare to do, and act vigorously for national development and interests.
Nguyen Van Dung, a Party member in Quyet Thang Ward, Son La City, said that the elected members of the Party Central Committee are really virtuous and talented. He added, “I expect the Party Central Committee of this term will stay united and determined to further develop our country as stipulated in the Congress’s resolution.”
Nong Thi Ha of the Tay ethnic group in Ta Phoi commune, Lao Cai city, has paid special attention to 13th National Party Congress. She expressed her belief that the new Party Central Committee will create breakthroughs in all fields, from developing high-quality human resources to applying scientific and technological advances, especially innovations in sustainable poverty reduction for ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
“We hope that the 13th Party Central Committee will continue to lead the country and people in defeating the COVID-19 pandemic and achieving goals of socio-economic development and national security and defense,” Ms. Ha said.
Do Xuan Hop, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, told VOV, “I hope the elected comrades will continue to inherit the achieved results and lead the country to move forward, first of all, effectively fight epidemic for the people to welcome Lunar New Year safely.”
Party member Nguyen Van Phu in Da Kao ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, is hopeful of the newly-elected Party Central Committee members, saying “Comrades, put the interests of the nation and the people first. We will follow your dedication and hope to welcome your achievements and contributions in your new positions. And we also expect not to detect any decline in morality. We wish you will deserve to be the representative of the Party and the nation in the cause of building a stronger Vietnam.”
