1.5 billion USD saved in state budget spending over past 5 years
(VOVWORLD) - A supervisory delegation of the National Assembly worked with the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday to inspect the implementation of policies and laws on practicing thrift and combating wastefulness from 2016 to 2021.

The Ministry reported that 1.5 billion USD in State budget spending was saved and six district-level and nearly 550 communal-level localities were cut in the past 5 years. Up to 74,000 people were removed from the State payroll from 2015-2020.
At the meeting, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasised the need to comply with the Law on Thrift Practice and Wastefulness Prevention, which is performing a task at a lower cost and using the same resources to generate higher added value.
Another aspect of the practice is to fine-tune regulations and policies to remove bottlenecks in terms of personnel, material, and financial resources, he noted.
