2015 Criminal Code promotes crime prevention, incline to the good
(VOVWORLD) -The 2015 Criminal Code, which will take effect from January 1st, 2018, institutionalizes the 2013 Constitution and the judicial reform ideas of the Politburo.

Experts say the Code aims to promote crime prevention and incline to the good. Dr. Dinh The Hung of the Institute of State and Law said there are 340 new points compared with the 1999 Criminal Code. For example, the exemption from several criminal liabilities, change and supplement of 34 new crimes, narrower scope of application of death penalty, expansion of pecuniary penalties, and reeducation without detention.
