(VOVworld)- Vietnam and Thailand held their second joint cabinet meeting in Hanoi on Saturday with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Thai counterpart, Yingluck Shinawatra co-chairing the event. In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung highlighted the development of the bilateral ties, which has met aspirations of both countries and peoples. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung says: “At this important meeting, we need to focus on measures and practical ways to boost bilateral cooperation in all fields including in building an ASEAN community, regional and international forums, and in contributing to peace, cooperation and prosperity in Southeast Asia and the world. I believe that with that spirit, our meeting will be a success, marking a new milestone in the multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand”.

Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra reiterated that the Thailand-Vietnam relationship has developed comprehensively. She expressed her hope that discussions at this meeting will help raise the bilateral ties to a new height. During the meeting, Vietnamese and Thai cabinet members held joint meetings on politics, security, economics, culture and society. They reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the first meeting in 2004, discussing measures to strengthen friendly and cooperative ties between Viet Nam and Thailand, and exchanging views about international and regional issues of common interest.
