(VOVworld) – The Center for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control in the central and central highlands reported that typhoon Wutip has killed 3 people, injured 31, caused heavy material losses and destroyed nearly 5,000 houses.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Tuesday asked leaders from the affected provinces to continue following developments so that the appropriate measures could be taken to prevent flood, erosion and landslides. They were also required to quickly support injured people and the families of the deceased as well as those who have had their houses destroyed. Available resources will be mobilized to ease traffic flow, resolve communication problems, sanitize the environment, and prevent epidemics. The Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of National Defense are all involved in dealing with the typhoon’s aftermath.

A government delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, on Tuesday inspected the situation in Bo Trach district in Quang Binh province, the hardest hit by typhoon Wutip. Deputy Prime Minister Hai asked provincial authorities to quickly restore schooling for students and help the district restore communication lines, transport and electricity. He said: “The province and district are entitled to use the state back up budget to help people overcome their losses. The agricultural sector must evaluate the losses so that support policies can be devised.”
