350 Vietnamese citizens safely repatriated home from UK

(VOVWORLD) - More than 350 Vietnamese citizens were safely brought home from the UK on a repatriation flight carried out by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on Friday and Saturday. 

Passengers on board the flight were those who were left stranded due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. They included children under 18, students without accommodation due to dormitory closure, pregnant women, elderly people, people suffering from serious illnesses, stranded holidaymakers and others in special circumstances.

Upon landing at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province, northern Vietnam, all the crew members and passengers were given medical checkups and put under quarantine in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
