3rd additional protocol to child rights convention takes effect

(VOVworld) – Children all over the world are now empowered to protest any violation of children’s rights, as an individual or group, to the United Nations. This was the core of the 3rd additional protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child which was approved in late 2011 and recently took effect. The convention opened a new era for child protection worldwide.

Violations of children’s rights include sexual and labor abuse, child pornography, education deprivation, and forced involvement in violence and war.
