(VOVWORLD) - The National Assembly on Tuesday approved the list of 44 persons who will undergo a vote of confidence at the top legislative body's ongoing year-end session.

NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said the vote of confidence aims to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the NA’s supervisory activities and the State apparatus and help assess the prestige and performance of officials so that they will continue to improve themselves. It also serves as a basis for authorised agencies to carry out personnel planning, training, appointment, and use.
According to NA Resolution 96, positions requiring a vote of confidence include State President, Vice President, NA Chairman, NA Vice Chairman, Members of the NA Standing Committee, Chairman of the Ethnic Council, Chairmen of the NA Committees, NA Secretary General, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other members of the Government, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and State Auditor General.
Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Head of Delegate Affairs for the NA Standing Committee, said the Committee has received reports and asset and income declarations from the outset of the term for individuals undergoing a vote of confidence. The reports were forwarded to NA deputies 20 days before the session's opening.
