(VOV) - The fourth China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue has opened in Beijing with military officials from both countries attending. Speaking at the opening ceremony today/ on Thursday, Chinese President Hu Jintao said that the talks have become one of the high-level channels to discuss the biggest issues in China-US relations. Hu added that the dialogue promotes strategic exchange, strengthens mutual understanding of policies, expands cooperation between the two countries. Hu stressed that developing the relationship is in the interests of peace, stability, and development in the world.

During the two-day talks, both parties are expected to discuss energy security, climate change, and the Sudan issue. They will also discuss promoting sustainable economic growth, financial policy and currencies.
