5 new cases of COVID-19 infection reported in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - As of 6 PM on Thursday, 5 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed in Vietnam, all in Quang Nam, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

After 99 straight days with no community transmissions, Vietnam has suddenly recorded 48 new COVID-19 cases in Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dak Lak, bringing the total to 464.

According to worldometers.info, there have been over 17 million COVID-19 infections and 670,000 deaths worldwide. The US remains the epicenter with 4.5 million infections and 153,000 deaths, followed by Brazil with 2.5 million infections and 90,000 deaths.
