The on-going plenum of the Party Central Committee has gained public interest as it focused on amendments to the Constitution, land regulations, anti-corruption and salary reform. Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has hailed the issues as important for national development. Nguyen Luong Kien is a retiree in Hanoi:“Corruption is a major social issue. We are concerned that most cases were detected by the press rather than state agencies. Anti-corruption needs to be accelerated to ensure better life for people and gaining public trust on the Party”

Do Dang Khoi from Hanoi calls for drastic measure to resolve land issues as they are the source of 70% of complaint files: “I ask the plenum to stabilize the public sentiment by ensuring a consistent drastic approach from central to local level. I call for a comprehensive implementation of resolution on the issue.”
