6 new COVID-19 cases but no transmission in Vietnam for 47 straight days

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has gone 47 days with no local transmissions of the novel coronavirus.

As of Monday night, the total number of infections stood at 1,140 after 6 imported COVID-19 cases were confirmed. The newest cases arrived from Russia and France, and were quarantined upon arrival.

1,046 patients have recovered. Fatalities stand at 35.

According to worldometers.info, as of Monday the world had recorded more than 40 million COVID-19 infections and 1.1 million have died. The US remains the epicenter with 8.4 million infections and 224,000 deaths, followed by India and Brazil.
