(VOVworld) – On the 83^rd anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) on February 3, major newspapers in Vietnam highlight the role of the CPV as the leader and organizer of all victories of Vietnamese revolutions which steer Vietnamese people firmly to socialism and build a more developed, integrated, fair, democratic and civilized country.

The Nhan Dan (People) newspaper runs an editorial on enhancing the Party’s leadership and fighting will to build a more transparent and stronger party. The editorial said that in 2013 the entire Party and people strive to successfully implement the resolutions of the 11^th National Party Congress. Vietnam also makes efforts to achieve socio-economic targets and to realize a Party resolution on Party building and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples. The newspaper said in addition to regular criticism and self-criticism, it’s necessary to build a more transparent and stronger Party. The Nhan Dan’s editorial added that given the people’s trust in the Party, the Communist Party of Vietnam will certainly be stronger, deserving its role as the vanguard of the workers’ class, the mass and the Vietnamese nation.

The People’s Army newspaper stressed the need to enhance the Party’s strength, which is vital to Vietnam and a prerequisite to for the people’s happiness and prosperity. The Party’s strength and transparency are the sharpest and most effective weapons to foil any hostile forces’ political plots to sabotage the Party and the regime and cause political instability.

A wide range of activities are underway throughout Vietnam to mark the founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In Hanoi on Saturday, a music program was held to review the Party’s 83 years of glorious development. Guests, who are prominent figures, talked about party building and national construction.

In Ho Chi Minh city, a live TV program on Saturday night featured historical figures and glorious moments of Vietnam’s just struggles for national independence. The 1968 Tet Offensive created a breakthrough in Vietnam’s revolutions and broke down the US war plans, forcing it to negotiate at the Paris Conference and withdraw troops from Vietnam. Hero of the Armed Forces Cao Chau, who took part in the Offensive, said:“I was honored to join the southern people in the struggle against the US. Our struggle was so brave and harsh. Many comrades never return home. On this day, we remember our comrades. I hope that today’s younger generations will uphold the tradition to build a more prosperous and stronger Vietnam.”
