(VOVworld)- A film week celebrating the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory is being held in Vientiane and Savanakhet province in Laos. 8 famous films about the Dien Bien Phu campaign including five feature films “A Phu couple”, “Standard Flag”, “Two Mothers”, “Dien Bien Phu”, “Red Banhinia Flowers” and 3 documentaries “Dien Bien Phu”, “Dien Bien Phu victory”, and “Dien Bien Phu Golden Milestone” are beings screened. The films will also be broadcast on Lao National TV. Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Buangeun Saphouvong told a press conference on Tuesday: “Dien Bien Phu victory is the pride of Vietnamese people in their harsh struggle for national liberation. This is also a golden victory in the revolutionary struggles of three Indochinese countries: Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in particular and peace lovers in general. Through these films, we hope that Lao people and armed forces understand more about this historic victory and join with Vietnamese people to celebrate the event”.
The Lao Deputy Minister said that Dien Bien Phu victory is a vivid symbol of the special friendship and military alliance between Vietnam and Laos. The victory encouraged Lao people to defeat the French colonialists to wrest back independence and freedom.
