(VOV) – The Hanoi Trade Union on Wednesday honored 13 collectives and more than a hundred female individuals for excellence in work and household responsibility.

This year’s movement will focus on gender equality and supervision of policies on female workers.

Phu Yen province’s Women’s Union held a lullaby and folk song festival attracting more than 150 contestants. The event is an opportunity for local women to exchange and preserve folk songs and lullabies. Nguyen Thi Mien is a former Chairwoman of the Union: "The women in the locality have made much progress not only in production, and study, but also in arts. Their spiritual life has much improved".

The same day, the Vietnam Women’s Union announced the establishment of a branch in Lao Cai province. This is part of a program to establish subordinate associations to carry out specialized tasks and support the Union by consultation and implementation of strategic activities.
