(VOVworld) – Various activities are taking place in Russia and Malaysia to celebrate the 69th anniversary of Vietnam’s Day which falls on September 2. Vietnamese people in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg have launched a fundraising campaign to organize a trip for former Soviet Union experts and veterans to revisit Vietnam and celebrate the event there. Students, post-graduates, and businesses are encouraged to take part in the campaign, which was initiated 3 years ago, said President of the Vietnamese Association of St. Petersburg, Nguyen Duc Toan.

On Saturday, the Vietnamese Liaison Committee in Malaysia hosted a special art exchange to mark the 69th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, featuring songs in praise of patriotism and Vietnam’s sea and islands. On this occasion, the committee launched a campaign to raise funds to support soldiers defending Vietnam’s national maritime sovereignty.
