Activities underway to mark Vietnamese Doctors’ Day

(VOVworld) – Various activities have been organized to mark the 61st founding anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day on February 27th.

Vo Van Thuong, head of the Central Party Committee's Commission for Education and Communications, visited medical staff of the National Cancer Hospital, known as K Hospital, in Tan Trieu commune, Hanoi on Wednesday.

Thuong praised contributions by the hospital’s doctors and medical workers to improving people’s health and the sector’s quality and calling for enhancement of prevention and early detection of cancers.

He said he hopes K Hospital will become a reliable address of patients, their family members, and the society in the disease treatment. Thuong took the occasion to visit and present gifts to child patients at the hospital.

The same day, Hanoi Health Department launched an emulation movement under which the capital sector will focus on preventive medication, the prevention and control of epidemics, tightening medical check-up and treatment quality, speeding up administrative reforms, and investing in infrastructure and medical equipment.

Toyota Motor Vietnam and the US VinaCapital foundation have handed over ambulances and medical equipment worth about 90,000 USD to six hospitals in Ha Giang province.
