Additional 2.9 million COVID-19 infections reported worldwide

The US is the hardest hit country, followed by India and Brazil.

In the US, 8.1 million people lost their relatives in the pandemic and around 300,000 Americans died since the Delta and Omicron variants were reported in the country since last summer. But more than 62 million American people have not been vaccinated and 84 million have not been fully vaccinated. The European Commission is proposing the extension of the EU Digital COVID Certification until June, 2023.
