(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has chaired a meeting to review adjustment to Hanoi zoning by 2030 and vision of 2050. The construction masterplan covers Hanoi and its 9 neighboring provinces with a total population of 17.6 million people on an area of 24,300 square kilometers.

The Prime Minister expected the zoning to promote sustainable development and turning Hanoi into a metropolitan in the Asia Pacific: “The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development should cooperate with Hanoi authorities to restore the river system, continue with dredging work to ensure its beauty, drainage and transport functions. More pumping stations should be built to cope with possible floods.”
