He told a conference to connect Vietnamese firms with AEON’s supply chain in Hanoi Thursday that AEON wants to shift its material zones from China to Southeast Asian countries like Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam, which offer lower prices, adding that the corporation is planning to expand production of instant noodles, fried buns, and chicken and salmon products. Six Vietnamese products were introduced in AEON supermarkets during an AEON “good week” event in Japan last year, earning 260,000 USD in revenue. AEON has committed to raising Vietnam’s exports to Japan through its distribution network to one billion USD by 2025.
