(VOVWORLD) - Secretary General of the Cambodian National Assembly Leng Peng Long has said that Vietnam as the host country is well prepared for the 41st Session of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA 41).

He told the media on Friday that the National Assembly of Cambodia will actively participate in the 3-day online session, which will open on Tuesday in Hanoi.
Mr. Leng Peng Long said that besides the usual agenda, Vietnam has proposed establishing the AIPA Young Parliamentary Committee. According to him, young people are a strong force of each country, so the National Assembly must adopt a youth policy, creating conditions for youth to actively participate in national development.
The Cambodian official also spoke highly of Vietnam’s initiative to add COVID-19 solutions to the upcoming AIPA agenda. He said that although ASEAN already held two previous meetings on the fight against the pandemic, the inclusion of this theme in the AIPA 41 agenda is very urgent because Southeast Asian countries all are severely affected by the pandemic, while a radical solution to the problem has not yet been reached.
