Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh elected President of Vietnam-US Society

(VOVWORLD) - Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and  former Ambassador of Vietnam to the US, has become President of the Vietnam-US Society after a vote on Friday.

The Vietnam-US Society of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations elected its board of leadership at its 4th National Congress for the 2021-2026 term in Hanoi on Friday. 

Addressing the event, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung praised the achievements of the Vietnam-US Society in the past term and  underlined the core contents of the Party and State's foreign policy approved by the 13th National Party Congress. He urged the Society to make more efforts to be worthy of its role as a people's friendship organization with the US.

Newly-elected Vinh expressed his hope that in the next term, there will be breakthrough developments in people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and the US to contribute to the two countries' relations, for the benefit of the two peoples, for peace, stability and development.
