Kasich, the 63-year-old second-term Ohio governor, served as a member of the US House of Representatives from 1983 to 2001. He ran in the 2000 Presidential Election but dropped out after an unsuccessful primary.
Kasich has 1.5% support of Republicans nationwide, putting him 12th out of the 16 Republican candidates.
The reason he decided to begin a presidential bid was that he felt he had sufficient ability and experience to keep the American dream alive.
