‘Ao dai’ wearers offered free city tour on double-decker bus
(VOVWORLD) - 700 passengers wearing ao dai, the traditional dress of Vietnam, in Hanoi on Friday were offered a free city tour on double-decker buses, which run through the capital city’s tourist attractions.
“The Quintessence of Ao Dai” program was organized by the Tourism Authority of Hanoi in collaboration with the Hanoi Transport Corporation as part of of the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024.
"Now at 70, this is the first time I have experienced a bus tour around Hanoi. We are very proud to wear the ao dai, the graceful traditional dress of Vietnamese women that has always been a part of our heritage," a participant said.
"Hanoi is home to beautiful streets and cheerful, hospitable people. I really hope to share these images with the world to promote the ao dai and the elegant, kindhearted, and resourceful Vietnamese women," said another participant.
A similar program will be organized on October 10, the capital’s Liberation Day. It is hoped to draw more than 1,000 people.
