(VOVworld) – Senior officials of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) members convened a meeting on Wednesday in Boracay Island in central Philippine province of Aklan to discuss new policy actions to boost trade and growth in Asia-Pacific economies.
Laura Del Rosario, Philippine Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs and 2015 Chair of the APEC Senior Officials' Meeting, said participants discussed initiatives for strengthening regional economic integration and lifting barriers to trade and the flow of goods, services, and people between the region's economies.
She added the meeting aims to assure APEC economies' people, businesses, and governments are facilitated to take advantage of new economic opportunities born out of greater interconnectedness and trade, and building resilient communities.
