(VOVworld) – A recent survey in France by Ifop-Fudicial for Paris Match magazine and Sud Radio on Tuesday saw the approval rating of Prime Minister Manuel Valls exceed 50 percent, marking his comeback to France’s five most popular politicians.

The rating for French President Francois Hollande dropped 5 points, to 21 percent. The poll showed Valls overtaking potential left-wing candidates for next year’s French presidential election, including former economic minister Emmanuel Macron and Lille's mayor Martine Aubry. The approval rating for Valls and Hollande within the Social Party is 55% and 43% respectively. Valls also gained in popularity outside his own party.
