The art show, hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Voice of Vietnam, celebrated Parents’ Day and War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day. Most Venerable Thich Thien Tam, a member of the organizing board, said the program highlights Vietnam as a friendly and peace loving country and pays tribute to parents.

“We want to remind the young generation of their parents who spare no effort to bring them up. They must always respect and pay gratitude to their parents,” said Venerable Tam.

Vietnamese people observe the 7th full moon of the year as Parents' Day (Vu Lan) or All Souls’ Day (Xa toi vong nhan). It is the second largest annual traditional festival of Vietnam after the lunar New Year (Tet) festival and is celebrated with religious rituals and humanitarian activities.
