(VOVworld) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the South Korean Embassy in Hanoi held a workshop on the strategic partnership between Korean and ASEAN member states. Director of ASEAN Department under the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Nguyen Tien Minh, said both have exerted efforts to promote bilateral ties after 25 years of dialogue relations.


He praised Seoul’s commitment to supporting ASEAN’s restructuring: “Economic, trade and investment relations are the key pillars in bilateral ties. The Republic of Korea has been the 5th largest trade partner in ASEAN while the ASEAN is Korea’s 2nd biggest investment destination. Both have promoted cooperation in education, culture, human resources and in combating non traditional threats such as climate change response and food security.” Delegates contributed opinions to prepare for the upcoming 25 anniversary of dialogue relations between ASEAN and the Korea next month.
