(VOVWORLD) -100 representatives from 10 customs delegations of ASEAN countries are attending the 33rd ASEAN Customs Directors-General Meeting in Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province.

The meeting is enhancing dialogue between the ASEAN customs community and ASEAN’s dialogue partners to align goals with the evolving economic landscape. They include initiatives to promote green customs practices, establish a robust customs data ecosystem, modernize customs operations, facilitate electronic data exchange, optimize customs management for e-commerce, and streamline procedures for low-value shipments.
Nguyen Thi Viet Nga, Deputy Director of the Department for International Cooperation at the General Department of Vietnam Customs, said that, the conference is centered on customs transit, the exchange of electronic documents within the ASEAN Single Window, and mutual recognition of priority businesses.
"As the current chair, Vietnam Customs will host working group events and facilitate cooperation throughout the year. Vietnam Customs is particularly focused on coordinating anti-smuggling efforts by ASEAN countries," she added.
