ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting opens

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh called on ASEAN countries to persistently pursue the goal of the building of the ASEAN Community by 2025 despite difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking at the online ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday, Minh expressed his hope that ASEAN countries will continue to cooperate to promote achievements and initiatives made this year in the cohesive and responsive spirit. Mr. Minh said: “In the spirit of cooperative and cohesive and responsive ASEAN I look forward to your continued support and cooperation dealing the call during this meeting as well as during a number of important meetings ahead, particularly the 37th ASEAN summit and related summits. With that, I look forward to having fruitful discussions with you to advance further our shared interests and priorities”.

After this meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Minh will chair the 22nd ASEAN Political - Security Community Council Meeting.
