ASEAN Future Forum 2024: Shaping a sustainable development roadmap

(VOVWORLD) -The ASEAN Future Forum 2024 on building a rapidly developing, sustainable, people-centered ASEAN Community will open on April 23, in Hanoi, involving  Government leaders, policymakers, experts, and representatives of the business community from ASEAN member states and international partners and friends. 
The forum, an initiative proposed by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia, in September 2023, promotes in-depth and comprehensive discussions on issues that matter to the ASEAN's future and development.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet addressed the international press conference held on Monday in Hanoi. He said “We hope that from this forum there will be many new, creative and innovative ideas to be able to contribute to the official exchange and discussion process within the ASEAN framework as well as ASEAN and partner countries."

"With an open forum like the ASEAN Future Forum, with a very clear goal of looking towards the future, we expect many new ideas for ASEAN to shape its future in the most effective way, benefiting each ASEAN member country and the people of ASEAN.”

Discussions will focus on digital transformation, green and inclusive growth; impact on human security by new technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and blockchain. During the Forum, the Secretary General of ASEAN will hold a dialogue with youth representatives from Vietnam and other ASEAN member countries, emphasizing the importance of youth in developing the ASEAN community.
