(VOVworld) – ASEAN delegates gathered in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on Monday to strengthen co-operation between their witness protection agencies.

The meeting, organised under the collaboration between the Indonesian Witness and Victim Protection Agency and the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, aims to formulate terms of reference between ASEAN witness protection agencies and foster their co-operation in tackling trans-national crimes, especially human trafficking. The ASEAN delegates also mapped out regional legal frameworks for witness and victim protection with reference to international standards.
