Racism can manifest itself in many different forms, including civil rights violations, online racism, and violence. Of the types of harassment included in the report, the majority (66%) of the incidents were verbal or written hate speech.

According to the report, 1 out of 9 cases involved civil rights violations, such as discrimination in the workplace, while 10% of recorded incidents occurred on online platforms.

The report said acts of hate occur everywhere in the US, from urban to rural areas, where Asian-Americans live. California recorded the most cases of racism against Asians, followed by New York and Washington.
