(VOVworld) – Bac Kan province has produced a range of agricultural products indicating their geographical origins. These include vermicelli, fragrant glutinous rice, seedless persimmons, and mandarin oranges.

The provincial authorities said the indication of geographical origins was not only a great opportunity but also posed challenges for local people in preserving and developing their agricultural produce trademarks.
“The province has worked out a specific strategy to link production with consumption. Production areas and cooperatives have been set up to assure good quality and productivity. 20 cooperatives specializing in agricultural and forestry production have been established", said Pham Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of Bac Kan province’s People’s Committee.
