Badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh reaches world’s top 35

(VOVWORLD) -Nguyen Thuy Linh reached 35th place for the first time in Badminton World Federation’s ranking after defeating Japan’s Asuka Takahashi 2-1 at Badminton World Tour Vietnam International Challenge final on Sunday.

She earned 4,000 points after the match and a total of 34,270 points after 10 international tournaments in 12 months.

The 26-year-old was among BWF’s top 40 with 30,270 points last week and was placed 54th for the past 12 months.

Linh is now 3,000 points away from top 30, currently held by Aya Ohori. She will enter top 30 if she appears in another final of a Challenge tournament.
