(VOVworld) -  Ben Tre province has organized a meeting to acknowledge charitable contributions by Japanese individuals and organization and to celebrate the 40^th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

Thousands of children with disabilities in Ben Tre received plastic surgery thanks to a health project run by the Japanese Cleft Palate Association and the Vietnam-Japan Association for Child Protection. A number of Japanese companies were honored at the event, including Furukawa Automatic Systems, Nidec Tosok Precision, Showa Garment and Textile Company, and Marubeni Group.
