Former President Donald Trump  won a decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, sweeping the battleground state map by margins. 

Harris accepted defeat while Biden confirmed his commitment to a peaceful and orderly transfer of power to Trump. Biden stated that his administration would work diligently to ensure a smooth transition of power in respect of what the American people deserve. 

The transition will take place from now until Mr. Trump is sworn in on January 20, 2025, and officially becomes the 47th President of the United States.
