Bomb attack near US embassy in Kabul

A suicide bombing on Tuesday, targeting a bus of the Supreme Court in Kabul, Afghanistan, killed 17 people and wounded 39 others. The bombing attack which occurred outside the Supreme Court, near the US Embassy, has shaken Kabul. Colonel Mohammad Zahir, head of Department of Criminal Investigation in Kabul said that the bombing targeted directly one of the buses for Supreme Court’s staff. Taliban rebels took responsibility for the attack and said that the bombing was to punish judges who sentenced to death Taliban prisoners arrested by the Afghani government. This has been the second attack conducted by Taliban in the last two days in Kabul. On Monday, Taliban attacked the Kabul international airport but 7 Taliban’s gunmen were killed by Afghani security forces.
