Border localities break ground on boarding schools

(VOVWORLD) -Border localities across Vietnam on Sunday began construction of boarding schools as part of the movement "The whole country for beloved border students".

In Quang Ngai province, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended the groundbreaking ceremony to build primary and secondary boarding schools in four land border communes of  Duc Nong, Mo Rai, Ro Koi and Sa Loong.

These key projects, with an investment ranging from 2.2 to 7.8 million USD,  will have about 30 classrooms, meeting the learning needs of 1,000 students. Construction is scheduled to be completed before August 30, 2026. The Duc Nong Commune Boarding School alone has 47 classrooms, serving about 1,600 students.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Binh affirmed the Party and State’s sentiment and responsibility for the cause of education and for people in remote, isolated and border areas of the Fatherland.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung attended the groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday in Ia Nan commune for boarding schools in seven border communes of Gia Lai province. With a total investment of 57 million USD, the projects are expected to meet the needs of more than 7,400 students when they are completed in August 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister Dung said investing in education is investing in the future; investing in border areas is investing in the long-term stability of the country, adding the boarding school projects will help create equal learning opportunities for children in border areas and maintain national border security.
