On Friday, British Secretary of State for Defense John Healey emphasized that Britain supplies weapons to Ukraine for defensive purposes and highlighted that any attacks by Ukraine must adhere to the framework and limits of international humanitarian law.

Healey's statement came just hours before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and attended an extraordinary meeting of the British Cabinet to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

During the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Starmer affirmed that Britain would accelerate the provision of crucial aid to Ukraine. He also mentioned that the Defense Export Support Treaty, to be signed by defense ministers, would enable Ukraine to utilize 4.5 billion USD in export financing to bolster the defense industrial base of both countries and increase production.
