(VOVworld) – The British government has not gained enough support from members of parliament to conduct of air strikes against Islamic State in Syria. Defence Minister Michael Fallon told the BBC on Sunday that the government is holding talks with Labour lawmakers and building the case for air strikes. Fallon said the plan is unlikely to win approval if the Labour Party instructs its members to vote “no”. Members of parliament could vote next week, but the government said it will not call for the vote unless the plan garners sufficient approval.
